我們都知道，我國有教育上的城鄉差距。我們博幼基金會成立的目的就是希望拉近這個差距。六年前，我去南投縣信義鄉看我們的課輔情況，就有一個小男孩英文表現得不錯，現在他已經是國二升國三的學生，請看他最近翻譯的兩篇文章。我覺得他已經不錯了，希望大家給我們博幼基金會一些掌聲。
這個孩子一直都在非常偏遠的信義鄉念書，有這種能力，不容易也。我們當然要承認，他的翻譯不算完美，畢竟他只是一個國中二年級的學生。第二段的文章是BBC網站上的文章。
“That’s me,” he said. I lifted my head to look at him, but what I saw was a healthy, happy boy. I couldn’t believe a beggar could have changed so dramatically. “How is it that you look like a totally different person now?” I asked. He said, “Right now my spirit is speaking to your spirit. This body is a mere illusion; it doesn’t really exist. When I was alive, I always envied people who had healthy bodies like this–that’s why I chose this body. Haven’t you noticed that our lips have never moved?”

It hit the island of Shikoku(四國島) late on Thursday, bringing torrential(猛烈的)rain. The broadcaster(廣播員) said at least 31 were hurt. Nangka(南卡) has since weakened and been downgraded to a tropical(熱帶的) storm, but officials(官員) have warned of continued strong winds and storms in the area.
