博幼基金會是專門設法幫助偏鄉地區的孩子，偏鄉地區孩子最嚴重的是英文，我們認為孩子的英文必須有最基本的能力，也就是說，能夠看得懂基本的英文句子。以下是我們對於國小畢業生認證的考題：

大家一定不會覺得題目有什麼難，沒有想到的是，在偏鄉有兩所國中，他們的老師測驗了一下今年進入學校的新生，這些新生當然才從小學畢業。一百分滿分，這兩所國中新生的成績如下：
A校 12.3分
B校 28分
現在看我們博幼學生的程度：
A校附近博幼學生95分
B校附近博幼學生80分
從以上的資料可以看出我們的確是幫了很多學生的忙，至少他們會看懂很多英文的基本句子。可是，令我們感到難過的是，博幼基金會所能幫助的人是不多的。我們相信很多的孩子就這麼樣懵懵懂懂地進入國中，他們能夠唸國中的英文課程嗎？他們能有足夠的競爭力嗎？他們真是可憐的孩子。
雖然博幼基金會的孩子比起附近其他的孩子好很多，可是我們仍然設法改進我們的教學方法，希望我們的孩子可以表現得更好。
令我感到安慰的是，我們的孩子進到國中以後，英文不會很落後的。將來他們總有一些競爭力，不太可能成為低收入戶或者成為社會邊緣人物。所以各位善心人士捐了錢給我們，是會使得我們社會更加安定的。
